Never in my entire life have I've been to an amusement park where I felt like I was in prison or going through security at the airport. Universal and Islands of Adventure have taken security to the extreme that they took out all the enjoyment of going to a theme park. Before each major ride, guests must put ALL their belongings into a locker that charges $2-3 per rental. This is simply outrageous! For a single rider like myself, I don't have anyone I can leave stuff with and must rent a locker and in some ways feel discriminated. I believe the locker might be free for the first 30min, but after that they charge. ALL items except for glasses must go in the locker and they will check you. Once you are in line, park employees will have you go through a metal detector and then wand you for any items you may have not put in a locker.
Also, I requested to be able to ride in the front and the park employee would not accommodate me, even after I told him I'd be willing to wait. He showed no sign of empathy and overall was very rude. If a guest would be willing to wait for the front train, then I'd do my best to accommodate them. This person seemed to not care about guests needs and was only trying to fill seats. If you are in any kind of service job, then it is your responsibility to accommodate the guests/patrons best you can and keep them happy so they will want to come back.
Let's just say I won't be going back to Universal and Islands of Adventure anytime soon. They do have a few good coasters, but the fast lane pass they offer is expensive and doesn't even work on the newer rides like VelociCoaster. Overall, SeaWorld is a much better park to go to and offer better rides.
The only way you can film at Universal and or Islands of Adventure is by using camera sunglasses.
